The City of La Grande Celebrates 27 Years as a Tree City USA!

Fall Tree Planting

The City of La Grande is accepting requests for trees to be planted in City right-of-ways (near the street). A variety of shade trees are available and the City Arborist will work with you to select the best tree for your planting space.  The trees are high quality and a minimum of 15-gallon or 1¼” caliper. The cost of the trees is shared by the City and the homeowner, your cost would be $30 per tree.  You may plant the tree yourself, with direction from the City Arborist, or you may request that volunteers plant it for you. Please contact the Urban Forestry Division at  or call (541) 663-1952 to request your tree.

NeighborWoods® Month

October is National Neighborwoods month, an annual campaign to plant and care for community trees. Join our GROW LA GRANDE volunteers and help plant trees throughout the City on Saturday October 7, from 9:00 to noon.  Meet at the Parks Department in Pioneer Park.

Trees provide  benefits that are fundamental to our city's livability. Clean air and water, cooler streets and homes,

beauty, and wildlife habitat are essential elements to the health and comfort of any city.

The City of La Grande partners with Oregon Community Trees.

OCT is committed to making our cities a better place to live

through the care of our urban & community forests.
